Emily Hayes is freelance Illustrator and Designer based in the UK. She has a passion for hand generated lettering, particularly inspired by 1940s hardware packaging. She likes to spend her time thinking and drawing up narrative illustrations. She is always excited to receive poster design commissions as they combine her love of image and text to tell the story of an event to come. Being a geek at heart, Emily likes the challenge of map design - collecting, researching, analysing and resolving.

Her work combines fact and fiction in imaginative, original and humorous ways. The essence of characters, stories and atmospheres are captured through her illustrations and bold, striking colours. She has a very hands on approach, embracing traditional techniques such as drawing, linocutting and silk screen printing.

Her clients include Intel, Conran, Britain's Best High Street, T-Mobile through to producing artwork for fantastic independent retailers, no project is too big or too small!

Emily creates editorial and book illustration, poster design, map design, shop signage, logo design, advertising and character design for both print and digital media.

Emily Hayes has a range of illustrated homeware and stationery products which you can find in the SHOP section.

The collection was launched in May 2015 in London at Pulse Trade Show and is now stocked in stores throughout London, Berlin, Leipzig and all over the UK.

Playfulness with ideas and concepts is central to the ethos of the EH! brand and so the initial inspirations are very eclectic. Retro packaging, folk art, surrealism, science, pop culture and nature have formed some of the starting points for the collections. In whichever style, shape or form there is always wit and mischievousness. All EH! products are designed and made in the UK.

Emily Hayes holds a first class BA (Hons) in Graphic Arts from Liverpool School of Art and Universitat der Kunste, Berlin (in the Visuelle Kommunikation Department) and graduated in 2011 from the Royal College of Art, London with a Masters in Design Interactions.

She has a specialist interest in science communication, visualising ideas on topics related to technological developments and scientific research, through illustration and animation for publications, presentations and exhibitions. Emily is particularly interested in creating work that is both educational and entertaining.
