An Illusion of Familiarity

Chris Moulin is a cognitive neuropsychologist at the Leeds Memory Lab who has recreated the sensation of deja vu in a laboratory. Through conversations and meetings with Moulin, we have become fascinated by the construction of his psychological examinations and patients. Based upon true stories and his research, we created different methods to integrate the use of his scientifically created illusions into filmic experiences for the viewer, ourselves and fictional characters within. We are interested in the assimilation and subversion of psychological tests into different contexts away from the laboratory to fulfill specific desires and unusual motivations.

Part 1 'A Meeting with Moulin' is a short film, a reenactment of the meeting we had with Dr Moulin in November 2010
